What is Fibromyalgia? Well here is the medical definition.
Fibromyalgia syndrome affects the muscles and soft tissue.  Symptoms include chronic muscle pain, fatigue, sleep problems, and  painful tender points or trigger points, which can be relieved through  medications, lifestyle changes and stress management.
To put it plain, you hurt all over to different degrees and no good  reason. Imagine it like you ran marathon without having trained for it,  and when you are done running, you run against a wall. The pain varies  in strength and location. If you are stressed, it can get worse, if you  have to involve yourself in physical activity it can make it worse, and  the intensity can change from {Oh I can handle that} to {God dammed  someone shoot me now}
What exactly is causing it is unclear, treatment varies and there is no  cure. Once you have it, you have it for the rest of your life, and have  to deal with it. It’s like the mother in law you can’t stand but moves  in with you and you can’t do a thing about it.
Since every patient experiences are different I can’t speak for anyone  else then myself. To me having Fibromyalgia is a pain in the A**, most  morning when I get up I asses what parts of my body hurt the most, and  depending on that plan the day. If my arms and hands hurt, I don’t write as much as on other days. When my legs, hip and back hurts the most I  write more and avoid doing anything in the house. My life is organized  by pain levels, making and keeping an appointment is almost impossible,  making me quit spontaneous. Then there are the days where I wake feeling good and whole and are able to do whatever needs to be done.
I deal with it by trying to find a balance, so I don’t overexert myself. I try to not be stressed out and keep calm, not always possible but I  constantly work on it. Medications help, can make it more bearable, but  it is never completely gone.
Hope that answers the questions I got by E-mail lately. If not feel free to ask, but since there is not that much known I can only promise to  answer to the best of my ability. Please remember this is not diagnostic service or health information service, I can’t give you advice to your  own health problems.
